The dictionary defines Valor as, (boldness or determination in facing great danger, esp. in battle; heroic courage; bravery: a medal for valor.) As men of valor, we make a decision to be bold and upright before the Lord, in that when we step up to the plate for our Lord Jesus Christ, we put ourselves in the battle to fight even though he goes before us. We all have a battle to fight, and we can't do it alone, we need the master beside us all the way. The Apostle Paul talked a little about training his body for the battle so that he will not be disqualified from the battle, which in turn would be the race we run each day.
1 Corinthians 9:27:
27 I discipline (A) my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
If we remain in him and him in us we will not be disqualified. To be a Man of valor it means we wake up each day new and improved to run the race and win the battle.
